15th May 2018: A Day of Ups and Downs, My Amazing Mum

It's been a day full of ups and downs. Seriously. One of those days where I can really feel what it means when people say going through ups and downs is parts and parcel of life.

(It's 21st May 2018, 00:58 when I am writing this. Referring to my tweets as I am blogging. Wouldn't have remembered anything if not for my tweets but I definitely vividly remember feeling the emotional roller coaster ride.

Work felt screwed but it ended up being fun.

Was feeling annoyed because my phone battery died abruptly. Thank goodness I saw that coming so Lenny and I agreed the old-school way to meet outside Vivo City Sephora at 7pm. The one who're there first shall wait until the other person arrives.

I reached first and went in Sephora to walk around. Realized that the store is pretty huge and he might not know where I go so I head towards the entrance and waited there for him. It wasn't long before I start panicking when I still didn't see him and have no idea what time it was (I forgot we were supposed to meet at 7pm). I didn't panic for too long though. He was smiling and walking towards me.

Thanks to the phone, I got to experience the old school excitement and (positive) anxiety. Is there such a thing? But it also made me rethink how reliant I am on my phone these days.

It was a long day at work and in general so I was really looking froward to reaching home and resting asap. But then a moth flew out of my cupboard when I was keeping my clothes in so that scared the shit out of me badly. Boooo.

Lenny drove over just to help me hunt for the moth (which means I got to see him abit more yay) but to no avail (fml). We were convinced that the moth probably flew out of my windows already. So he went back home.

Finally, I settled down and was getting ready to sleep but my tummy was aching (seriously fml).

It doesn't help that when I sat up on my bed, I heard a light "thud" behind me and I cringed instantly, knowing there is a huge chance it is the moth. So I scrambled to on my room lights.

Lo behold. The moth was flying around my room.

I let out a soft "argh" and the next thing I know, my mum was out of her room and coming into mine. I got the Baygon and was ready to put an end to my suffering when my mum said it's not good to kill a moth because superstitious belief is that a moth may sometimes be a visiting (deceased) relative.

Alright. So she spent the next 10 mins or so chasing the moth out and was finally successful in getting it into the living room.

I don't know how to describe how amazing my mum is. The way she knew I needed "rescuing" and patiently guided the moth out.

I love my mama!
