10th May 2018: Monthsary with Lenny

After work, Lenny and I went to eat a little bit of sushi before heading off to our favourite arcade.

We were playing Cookie Master when this couple came and started playing the machines right next to us. They seem like newbies and were just wasting all their credits away.

Seeing that they were clueless about Cookie Master, I showed them a little on how to play and they caught on pretty quickly. The lady then told me it's her and her husband's first time to the arcade. She also said that their total age is 120 years old (they're both in their sixties).

The tickets ran out so I went off to help them call for the service attendance. Cow Play Cow Moo is really shorthanded on weekdays for some reason. It took quite a while before the attendant came. Meanwhile, the couple left the Cookie Master machine and went to explore others. I helped them watched over their ticket dispensing then kept them neatly.

The lady came back thanking me and went off with her tickets. Meanwhile, Lenny was exasperated because the machine was rigged. Our bonus was stuck at 1000 but we never reached the bonus for the lucky game. It was sad and we were disappointed.

The lady came walking to us and she looked so happy. I guessed they were about to went off and yes they were. But before they did, they handed Lenny and I 2 ticket receipts. One contained 2 tickets while the over contained 5000. She said her husband and I got to exchange for some plushies for their grandkids and they have no more need for the tickets. So the rest is for us.

I don't think she will ever know how much her actions meant to me. On our special day, Lenny and I were disappointed by machines but revived with the touch of humanity.

On this day, I'm reminded why human touch and humanity is important. The world would be a cold place if we're gonna allowing machines to completely takeover our daily lives and interactions.

To the couple, thank you. I hope you two live to a ripe old age, healthily and happily.
