26th Jul 2018: Maple M, Annoyed at Work
I started playing Maple M yesterday, but the server was unstable. It wasn't until today that I managed to steadily connect to the game and progressed on. I've passed the Level 50 mark yay! Sadly though, there will be maintenance from 3.30pm to 7.30pm. So cannot farm during work.
Super impressed the the game graphics, they really compressed the computer graphics to fit into mobile. The graphics is super smooth, and movement is relatively easy (except for jumping up to the left or right). I think the maps are largely similar. What I love most is that there is an auto-quest function.
With this auto-quest function, I am simply able to easily access the next available quest and the character will walk itself to the NPC. Yes. the character will go through portals by itself, and even the the NPC chat on its own. I just have to make sure I am there to click the "Next" or "Continue" button to ensure the flow goes on.
The character will then move off on its own and hunt for the necessary monsters and items. The auto-quest can be quite slow. For example, when the quest specifies 2 types of monsters to be hunted, the auto-quest will hunt and hit the quota for one before it moves on to the next monster. Even though both types of monsters are on the same field.
Surprisingly, even though there is a lot of automation, I still feel very much engaged with the game. In fact, I seriously appreciate this automation so much because I'm such a lost cause when it comes to navigating around maps and trying to complete quests. Quests are super important when it comes to obtaining EXP so it was really hard for me to enjoy the game on the computer version when I have to devout a lot of the attention to navigation and stressing which quest is next and how to complete it.
The only thing I am concerned about now is the enhancement of armour I guess. Like Maple Story desktop, there is of course enhancement of armours and stuff. X_X I think that's where I will be a lost cause again.
Anyway, feeling super annoyed at work because of a few things.
Firstly, I already told Z before that "revert" does not have the same meaning as "reply", by Google-ing and sharing the search result with him. Even today, I pointed it out verbally. Yet he decided to ignore that, and pretended not to hear it. Sometimes, his English is so bad over email, I don't know wtf to say. It's not only this "revert" vs "reply" thing. He used to type "compromises" instead of "comprises of". Does he even realize how vastly the meaning differ?
Secondly, he keeps coughing and coughing. Even after reminding him to cover his mouth, he doesn't. Now I caught on the cough too. Is he gonna pay for my medical bills? Wear a mask ffs if you're sick. Zzz. Guess I shall wear a mask then. What a bother.
Thirdly, Z is always asking me to call the clients. And then when I get through to the client and talking to them on the phone, he likes to be at the side whispering stuffs that I cannot catch or signalling me stuff with his hands for me to tell the client. Zzz. Why doesn't he just call them himself then sigh. I don't get it.
