18th Jun 2018: 14 years the wait -- The Incredibles 2
Work was pretty normal. But the highlight of the day has got to be the closer from 14 years of waiting.
The sequel finally came out after 14 years and it wasn't disappointing at all. The sequel started at the exact point of time where the first movie ended. Jack Jack is still a baby, and Violet still has a crush on that guy.
The first Incredibles focused more on the humour and introducing what this family can do. It was really just more like an entertainment movie with a really good plot. But this sequel brought it closer to the audience (who many by now already has their own family, or already stepped into society to work) by making it very relatable. The crushes we have, the way parents try so hard to connect to their kids, the amount of energy parents need to take care of children, and the hard truth about certain aspect of society.
All in all, the whole movie was easy to understand. Whether or not you watched the first Incredibles movie, Incredibles 2 is worth the watch, although I have to admit the same joke is funnier when you understood the reference from the first movie.
On a personal level, I'm just so happy that I get to watch it with my mum and my bro. Cuz I watched the first Incredibles with them too. (Y)
My mum asked to speak to my brother and I after the movie. Can't say I like the content of the talk but I'm just really grateful to have my mum and brother. And Lenny of course.
